Narok, Nakuru and Nairobi Tour Overview

Kenya is among the best destinations for a family holiday. Based on our own experience of being on safari with kids, we customized this itinerary to be varied, yet allow for time to relax and explore without too much frenetic rushing from place to place or long hours in the car. This safari takes you to family-friendly lodges and offers a wealth of activities for every family member, from the most timid to the most adventurous.

Narok, Nakuru and Nairobi Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara

You will be met by our company representative at your Nairobi hotel at 7:00 am. After the briefing, you will leave Nairobi, driving southwards to the Masai Mara. You will have a stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewing point for a short photo session. You'll drive further southwards, arriving in Mara on time for lunch at the Mara Sopa Lodge. You'll relax after lunch, after the long journey, till 4:00 pm. You'll leave the lodge for an evening game drive till 6:30 pm. The Masai Mara is renowned for the spectacular Great Migration that takes place in July through October. Nevertheless, it is an all-year-round destination that never disappoints. You can spot all of the Big Five (Lion, leopard, rhino, elephant & cape buffalo) at any time of the year.

Day 2

Explore Masai Mara

You'll have breakfast at 6:30 am and leave the lodge at 7:00 am with a packed picnic lunch. You'll enjoy a full day game drive in search of animals in this park. Among the animals you can look forward to seeing include the Masai giraffe, lion, cheetah, leopard, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, Thompson's gazelles, Grant's gazelles, impalas, topis, zebras, wildebeest, warthogs, hyenas, dikdik, waterbuck, bushbuck, Coke's hartebeest, black rhino, eland, baboons, fox, jackals as well as numerous bird species including ostrich, cormorants, grebes, storks, falcons, bastards among others. You'll return to the lodge in the evening to enjoy the camp facilities and relax awaiting dinner.

Day 3

Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru

You'll check out after breakfast and leave the Masai Mara for Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in good time for lunch at the Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge. Full afternoon game drives followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the camp. Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingos and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance, the lake appears ringed in pink. The lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species— particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbucks, buffalo, and baboons are all residents here.

Day 4

Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

You'll have an early breakfast and later leave for a morning game drive in search of big game when they are most active before it gets hot. Leave Lake Nakuru National Park at around 11:00 am for a short drive to Lake Naivasha, arriving on time for lunch at the Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort. You can opt to relax after lunch, enjoying the resort facilities, or you can engage in other extra activities, such as a boat ride or a walking safari at the Crescent Island at your own cost.

Day 5

Lake Naivasha to Amboseli National Park

You'll depart the lodge soon after breakfast and proceed to Amboseli National Park, arriving on time for lunch at the Amboseli Sopa Lodge. You'll leave the lodge at 3:30 pm for the evening game drive starting from 4:00 pm till 6:30 pm You will be amazed by the herds of free-ranging elephants in this park. Four of the Big Five are also residents in this park, so you can expect a treat.

Day 6

Amboseli to Nairobi

You'll have an early breakfast and later checkout and enjoy a morning game from 7:00 am till 11:00 am when animals are most active before it gets hot. Later, you'll leave Amboseli National Park for Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at the hotel or airport in the evening.
